Why be a member? Consider these ten great reasons.- Professionalism - The Builders Association helps establish professionalism by sponsoring its members' image promotions through trade shows, parade of homes, community involvement and industry oriented promotions.
- Economic Development - Working closely with the local Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Department provides our association with updated information on new industry and development - an aid to you in making sound business decisions.
- Monitor Government Agencies - In order to protect members from hazardous zoning laws and planning restrictions, a committee from our association meets with agencies from time to time to establish a workable relationship. Members of our association often sit on these boards to lend their expertise.
- Publications - Members regularly receive publications which feature informative articles concerning the housing industry: a monthly newsletter from our association, the Builder Magazine monthly from NAHB and the Kentucky Builder Magazine from the HBAK.
- Group Insurance Programs - We provide programs that benefit our members and save them money.
- A Base of Operation - Our association's office provides individual services for the members and coordinates our associates' activities.
- No Man is an Island - We need you, your ideas, your suggestions, and your help to build a stronger association. In turn, we give you stronger representation at the local, state, and national levels.
- Legislative Efforts - Your interests are protected by the HBAK and the NAHB, since they employ full-time lobbyists to monitor action taken by government agencies and evaluate the effects on housing.
- Membership Roster - We provide you with an updated membership roster, listing subs, suppliers, banks, contacts, and other resources that can be utilized in your daily business activities.
- Monthly Meetings - Monthly meetings provide a forum to keep you in touch with others in your field. This is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and make business contacts in a social atmosphere. Other functions throughout the year include a members golf tournament, social trips, and other membership outings.
